Day 6, 7, 8, 9, March 6th to 9th: Visiting Family in Texas

Saturday we had a lazy morning and decided we would visit the Wimberley Market Days, the Texas Hill Country’s largest outdoor market.

It was threatening rain so we brought our rain coats, but did not really need them. We wandered the 400+ booths of the strange and different stuff people were selling.  Around lunch JJ and Molly joined us and we went to the Wimberley Cafe for lunch, Randy picked up the bill 😊.

After the markets we headed back to the house, there may have been naps taken.

The weather turned, the temperatures dropped and a light rain started. JJ decided that she should get herself and Molly home before the real rain arrived.

Joe, June, JJ, Molly, Fred

It was nice of JJ to come to see us.  Molly is a sweet little 2 1/2 year old who talks like a 5 year old. We missed Omar but he had some jobs going on at the house that he had to be present for.

Since it was chilly outside we stayed inside and watched 'Clarkson's Farm', too funny.

Sunday was even more chilly, it was 53F (about the same temperature as home) when we got up and the high was forecast to be 61F.

Despite the cold, I went for a scouting mission on the scooter, however it was Sunday and most places were closed in the morning, it was still a good ride.

Since it was cool, we decided to go bowling, yes bowling. Sue and Randy are in a bowling league, so they knew where to go. June and I had not bowled in about 20 years. We won't talk about the scores, but we did bowl and it was fun.

The Mix

We stopped at 'The Mix' (the Kissing Tree bar and recreation center) for a few drinks.

Shuffle Board

Randy and Sue destroyed June and I at shuffle board, it was not even close.

Randy made his famous ribs and June made smashed potatoes...delicious! We retired early, like retired people, Monday is forecast to bounce back into the 80's. 😊

Monday started cold and cloudy but ended with some sun and in the low 80's.

Monday morning it was raining lightly, Sue's pickleball match got canceled, so we just chilled hoping the weather would improve and it did. the girls did a little shopping and then we watched "Yesterday", love it!

Golfing the front 9

Sue had a golf match in the afternoon and the boyz were able to get a tee time shortly after Sue's. We played golf, or sort of, it was pretty ugly but we had fun.

June drove the golf cart for me, that was tense.

We visited the Mix on the way off the course, of course, and then headed to the house for dinner. Randy grilled again and we did our best to consume all the left overs we had accumulated this weekend...we did ok.

Tuesday we will continue our voyage west towards Roswell, NM and White Dunes National Park.
