Wednesday we went to bed early, so we woke early on Thursday. We slept with the windows open all night and were actually kind of warm, we have truly arrived in the south.
We had breakfast and were on the road about 7AM, our day was a drive of roughly 500 miles to our friends house in Flower Mound, Tx.
We crossed into Texas through Texarkana, from there to Dallas the traffic was pretty heavy with lots of construction. At one point we were in one of those Jersey Barrier chutes that makes you feel like you are in a bobsled going 70 mph and I said to June, "if one person screws up we are all going to die". That being said, traffic moved and we had no issues, quite amazing.

| John and Kyle's |
We arrived at John and Kyle Keaty's around 4PM and they were kind enough to surrender their entire driveway for parking the Serenity Falcon. Since we blocked access to their garage, they parked their vehicles on the street 😏.
We went to a nice Mexican restaurant for dinner, Las Caminos, the brisket tacos were great.
It was nice catching up with John and Kyle. I worked with John at IBM in the early 90's and have met him at the Sturgis Rally three times, they are great people.
We are fortunate that we have such generous friends all around this great country that we enjoy visiting on our travels.
Friday we plan to visit June's niece in Round Rock, about 4 hours south of Flower Mound and then go to brother Randy's in San Marcos for a few nights.

Happy to learn you didn’t die from the Jersey Barrier chute debacle. Be safe out there. Liz
ReplyDeleteWe don’t get to see the Keatys often but they are always welcoming.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you visited with the Keatys! Always good to see John's smile.
